Big Hugs from Lori

Happy Friday, quilters! I hope everyone and their water pipes made it through the cold snap. These are more finished quilts from Lori, week sent in 20 quilts in 2025!

These are a great assortment of cozy quilts that will be appreciated by grieving families here.

The cats and I hunkered down for the weather with electric heating pads and wool socks and we were quite comfy. I only missed work Monday due to the icy roads.

I'm so happy that my formerly-feral babies were inside for this freeze. I can't imagine they would have survived even this long of they had still been outside.

The babies will be going to a rescue organization Saturday to finish their journey and even though I know it's for the best, I'm really going to miss them!

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 1700 so far! The Winter 2026 block drive is live now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. Oh, that green/blue quilt is a beauty! And the half-hexes are intriguing. Glad you're safe and warm. This has been a winter of memorable weather for sure.

  4. That first quilt from Lori just took my breath away. I love it! Thanks to Lori for so many donated quilts in 2025. What a blessing to CiL!!
Kat, you will miss the little ones when they are gone but because you rescued them, you have given them new hope for the future in their forever homes.

  5. Sorry you couldn't get two days off out of the sttorm, LOL!! I had no pipe problems but have a relative who lives in the same complex as I that did. Fortunately they were prepared for it so it was more annoyance than problem. Lori sent you some real beauties that really will be appreciated! Also gave me some new ideas for the "To Do" list too. Your "temporary shelter babies" look so content let's hope whoever gets them next takes as good care of them.
