Spring, Fall, and Winter Quilts

Happy weekend! I have a set of three seasonally appropriate quilts for Covered in Love.  This top was made by Marianne, quilted by me, backed with fabric from Sandra and bound with binding from Holly! A true collaboration.

One of Sandra's beautiful backings

It's a large quilt, something like 60"x80" and so bright and Spring-y. I'm pretty sure these are Kaffe fabrics, looks like his colors.

Next, another of Marianne's large quilt tops in a perfect Fall colored palette.

I love these cozy colors and the on point setting. I backed it with more of Sandra's fabric and quilted with a loose stipple.

Finally, this darker, Winter-y quilt top was sent in by Joy and quilted by Kathy.  I really like the ribbon candy border and the little flange border.

It's not overtly Christmas-y, but the dark reds give it a cozy feel.  Thank you ALL, ladies, for contributing to CiL's success!

Kitten update: In a 180 turn from last week, sweet Leena-bean was the first of the babies to go to her new permanent home. Her new mom has promised me plenty of pictures as she grows up!

Beautiful Leena

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 400 so far! The Nov/Dec drive is going on now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. Love, love, LOVE that Fall colored quilt!!! I mailed in the winter-y one, but it was made by Marcia. I was given a bunch of her quilting stuff after she passed away. I knew that you could make good use of this quilt top. Couldn't bring myself to put a panto on it and my skills weren't up to custom quilting on my longarm machine. Thanks to Kathy for quilting this one (no matter WHAT pattern was used!!)

  3. Oops, I don't think I actually posted my comment. I love the red quilt, especially. Happy new home, Leena!

  4. The red quilt is wonderful. I love the ribbon candy border. Seeing the babies leave home is hard, but I'm happy Leena found someone who will love her in a forever home.

  5. The quilts for all seasons are beautiful. Thanks to all who contributed to make these beauties for CiL. I love all the variety of quilts that the chaplains have to select from for the families. I'm so happy that Leena found a new permanent home. I bet she will fit in purrfectly with her new family.
