Fabulous Shirtings

Happy Friday, quilters! I have more of Christy's shirtings quilts to show off this week.  I absolutely love this first one with its flag-ish pattern.

Linda quilted this one on her long arm and did a wonderful job.  Up close the blocks don't align perfectly, but I think it adds to the overall rustic-ness.

Next, this zigzag quilt which reminds me of Charlie Brown.

This one was also quilted by Linda and looks wonderfully cozy.  (I apologize for the crappy indoor pictures. I needed to photograph them so I could take them to the hospital, and the weather was bad.)

These last two were quilted by me with just a stipple. This one reminds me of a zipper pattern.

I had some great patriotic options for binding in my scrap drawer.

It was a little hard for me to spot the block in this one. It appears to be assembled in columns.

It's amazing how much can be made with just recycled shirts. And they look sooo cozy.

Thank you, Christy and Linda!

Sundae doesn't want to get up yet.

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 1600 so far! The Jan-March block drive is live now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. I absolutely love the first quilt posted. Patriotic & stars are a favorite of mine. Thanks for posting these before taking them to the hospital.
A special thanks to Christy, Linda & Kat for such wonderful work on these quilts.
I see daylight savings time has affected Sundae the same way it's affecting me! :)

  2. Cozy is the word of the day with these great quilts. I'm also trying to puzzle out the block in the last one; clever design! I know that patriotic quilts are big favorites, so many thanks to Linda and Christy for these lovely finishes.

  4. What a great batch of quilts, Kat! While I don't tend to quilt with them, shirting fabrics are a favorite of mine. Love, love, LOVE that "flag" quilt!!!
