Big Quilts Back from the Longarm

Happy weekend everybody, we made it through another week, and almost through another month!  I recently got a couple of quilt back from Mel, a longarmer in Central Texas who donates her talents to Covered in Love. 

This blue nine patch top came from Carolyn and is at least partially handstitched! Carolyn also sent in two other, large, handpieced tops that Mel finished you can see here.  

I love to share stories of the impact that CiL quilts have with you all whenever I can. Chaplain Perry recently texted me this story to pass along:

Four years ago would have been in 2016, not long after CiL started. Some of you have been involved all that time!  It's so rewarding to know that quilt is still appreciated and in use 4 years later.

This quilt top was sent in by Priscilla, who has sent in many, many tops over the past several years.  I especially liked the backing someone donated that went well with it.

Mel donated it with large flowers, which was the perfect complement!

World Village

If you've been following Covered in Love for very long then you've definitely seen these "village" quilts before. Mina makes them and I love what they represent! Mina says "the block is from the Quiltville site and is a free pattern called Happy Scrappy Houses.  It is so simple and only uses 3 sizes."

The top two on this page were sent in completely finished by Mina, the second were tops that I finished.

These 4 quilts were part of a delivery to the hospital last week of 32 quilts, which pushed us to a total of 650 since 2015!

As Covid numbers continue to rise in many states don't forget to be careful and wear your masks! Here's a selection of some of mine I made for the hospital and teaching nursing school.  They're all two sided so I get more use from them. It's fun to use interesting fabrics; anything for a smile!

Overdue Good Sitches

PSA: I had a couple of lovely finished quilts arrive from North Dakota today. For as long as I have been keeping a spreadsheet CiL has never had anything come from ND! There's no return address or note, if you sent them could you send me an email so I can say thanks?

Happy weekend! I just finished 3 quilts from my do. Good Stitches group, the Nurture circle, for Covered in Love.  This big and bright scrappy quilt was made by the group in January from 2.5" scrap strips. 
 

This quilt was from the August Nurture circle bee. It's based on this design I did a long time ago, which itself was based on someone else's do. Good stitches quilt.

I just wanted to point out what a stellar job the group did of matching the inspiration swatch for the colors!

Finally, this quilt was made from the bonus blocks and leftovers of last January's quilt (original quilt here). The color scheme was my favorite ever, peanut butter and jelly!

Three do. Good Stitches quilts all done and ready for delivery!

Sunny and I sent the Fudge-boy to grandma's house and took a quiet nap.

(More) UFOs Finished for CiL

Welcome back to more tops that were sent in to be finished for Covered in Love! The top one, with the pretty HSTs was sent in by Jan O. and finished by me.  I LOVE the color scheme and the cool modern design.

Next, Nancy C. sent in this masculine quilt using some small fabric scraps.  It looks like it might be partially based on a Crazy Mom Quilts pattern.

And finally, this bright and wild (mostly) batik churndash top from Priscilla. All three cozy, cheerful quilts that will be perfect for families in the hospital!
