NURTURE circle 1

Hey guys, happy new year! I don't know about you but my scrap drawers are overflowing, so I've got a really easy block to soak up some scraps.

Start by pulling out (2) fairly long 2.5" strips in complimentary colors.  (If you don't have scraps WOF strips will work).  It doesn't really matter how long the strips are that your first start with, you'll repeat the process until you have enough.

Sew them together on the long side, cut in half and sew together again to make a foursome.

Press at this point and then cross-cut 2.5" wide slices.

Flip every other slice and sew four of them together to make an 8 patch. Make as many 8 patches as you can from each strip set and save any leftover crosscut pieces to possibly incorporate later.

The goal is to make a 64 patch in each color way, so that's (4) 8 patches.  If your initial strip set made less than (4) 8 patches (mine made 2) pull more strips in the same colors and repeat the process until you have enough to make 4.  (You can combine crosscut pieces from different strips sets into the same 8 patches.)

When you have (4) 8 patches sew them together into a 64 patch.

And that's it, easy scrap busting! Please make 2 blocks in different color ways. If you have any crosscut strip sets or 8 patches leftover please send them along. Thank you!
