Good Stitchers

Hello Covered in Love fans! Sorry for the blogging hiatus, I have been sewing but I didn't have any finishes to show. Until now! These are a couple of quilts that were sent in to me basically finished.

Isn't this quilt the Nurture circle of do. Good Stitches made just the coolest?  Louise put it together and quilted it, and she also had it featured in the latest issue of Curated Quilts!

I love the creative, modern quilting Louise used to accentuate the falling stars pattern.

From the back you can see how the quilting outlines the stars on the front.

Next up, this patriotic quilt was sent in by Holly only lacking a binding.  It took no time at all to add a label and binding and have another finished quilt ready to go!

Thank you to all the dedicated quilters who support CiL.  I have been sewing away and will have more finished to show soon :)

Quilters are so Generous

Massive thanks to Dorothy from Washington who donated a dozen quilts to Covered in Love this week.

This gives me enough quilts to make a drop off next week at the hospital!

Meanwhile, on the home front. Fudge is not thrilled with me about his new harness :)

Taking a Breather

If I do something 3 years in a row does that make it tradition?  For the past 2 years I've taken a break from the block drives during May/June to catch up on getting quilts finished.  In 2017 Cynthia was an angel and guest hosted the drive, then in 2018 I asked you to donate to Jack's Basket and Briawna's charity drives.

This year I'm going to direct you toward the Hands 2 Help quilt drive, which is still running until May 19th, (of course you can donate to those charities at any time, not just during the drive!)  Sarah found some great charities to work with this year.  Jack's Basket is there, my favorite, and Mercyful Quilts run by Bernie from Needle and Foot which has basically the same mission as Covered in Love.

I'm officially calling this a tradition, May/June is the time when CiL shares the love! If you're jonesing for your usual dose of charity quilting during May and June, please direct your energy toward one of the great organizations Sarah picked out for H2H, or a charity local to you.  In the meanwhile, I'll be working hard to turn your donations into finished quilts.

I'll continue to post finishes and updates, and I'll be back in July with the next block drive!
