Taking a Breather

If I do something 3 years in a row does that make it tradition?  For the past 2 years I've taken a break from the block drives during May/June to catch up on getting quilts finished.  In 2017 Cynthia was an angel and guest hosted the drive, then in 2018 I asked you to donate to Jack's Basket and Briawna's charity drives.

This year I'm going to direct you toward the Hands 2 Help quilt drive, which is still running until May 19th, (of course you can donate to those charities at any time, not just during the drive!)  Sarah found some great charities to work with this year.  Jack's Basket is there, my favorite, and Mercyful Quilts run by Bernie from Needle and Foot which has basically the same mission as Covered in Love.

I'm officially calling this a tradition, May/June is the time when CiL shares the love! If you're jonesing for your usual dose of charity quilting during May and June, please direct your energy toward one of the great organizations Sarah picked out for H2H, or a charity local to you.  In the meanwhile, I'll be working hard to turn your donations into finished quilts.

I'll continue to post finishes and updates, and I'll be back in July with the next block drive!

  5. Thank you for sharing the love and posting about Mercyful Quilts! I really appreciate it as does Mercy Hospital! Enjoy the reprieve - tho I am sure you will be making quilts like crazy getting caught up with all of the blocks. It is all about balance though. Take care.

  8. I do believe you have started a tradition & a good one at that! Knowing you, I am sure your break from the block does not mean that you are sitting on the couch eating bon-bons & watching soap operas! :) You are a "non stop" gal & will have that sewing machine humming the whole two months. Thanks for all you do! Love the kitty cat shot.
