First of the Scrappy Mountains

Happy Friday, quilters! I know many of you, like me, are looking at a cooold weekend ahead, so let's have some warm quilts.

The first few quilts from the Scrappy Mountains Block Drive are done and ready to show. These first couple were quilted by Kathy on her long arm.

Speaking of block drives, there's a new one at the end of this post!

Becky in South Texas has been a godsend to help with assembling block drive blocks into tops. She made all the tops in this post and chose the layouts. I think she did an awesome job!

I'm in love with these quilts! Both the color scheme and the design are right up my alley.

This last one was quilted by Linda with one of my favorite pantos.

These ladies did such a great job with the blocks that were sent in and produced some stellar quilts.

Stay warm, everyone. I recommend snuggling someone with fur if you can

More Potato Chip Quilts

Happy Friday, quilters! I'm back with more quilts from our 2024 Potato Chips block drive. These tops were assembled by Becky and quilted by Kathy G. (I'm at least, like, 90% sure things were quilted by Kathy. Admittedly my storage system did get rearranged and there's a small chance they were done by Doris or Linda. D'oh.)

These are such cozy, quintessential quilts, they are popular with everyone! I took a big load up to the hospitals last week and they were grateful to receive these

I took the kittens to the local SPCA today for vaccines and wormer. The vet estimated they are 5 months old, which means they were several underweight 4 month olds when I trapped them

They currently hate me again, but hopefully that's only temporary. Considering they're even older than I thought they've really made great strides in socialization. Potato is fully on board with pets and being held, and little Sage is coming around slowly.

The big cats have come a long way, too. They're not just tolerating the babies, but grooming them and playing with them. Fudge is a fan of having some more energetic playmates than his sister.

If anyone lives within driving distance and would like some kittens, let me know! Thank you to Becky and Kathy, and to everyone who contributed to the block drive. I literally couldn't do it without you.

Red White and Blue Block Drive Finishes

Happy Friday, quilters! I have a fun finish to show you from last year's "Family Ties" red, white, and blue block drive. This one was made and sent in finished by our quilter Linda with a nice swirly leaf panto.

This one was a really fun block drive and we didn't get tooooo many blocks, which is a nice change from time to time.

We've had an awesome new volunteer join us recently. Becky M., who lives further south in Texas, has been taking boxes of blocks and assembling them into tops. Those tops come back to me and get boxed up with backings and shipped to various quilters.

These two were both quilted by Kathy G. The CiL pipeline never stops flowing!

These patriotic backings were donated by my local quilt store.

Thank you to all the volunteers who make this possible!

This was a small block drive, but you all made up for it with the HUGE potato chip block drive. Those quilts are coming soon and they look great. Speaking of block drives, the latest one is linked at the bottom of the post if you haven't made any blocks yet!
