Beach Time

Apologies for no finish this weekend. I'm at the coast enjoying some time with friends and sun and sand before my NEW JOB starts on Monday :)  Y'all enjoy your weekend, I think Spring may finally be here!

M&M Quilts

This week's two quilts for Covered in Love are brought to you by M & M. Michele sent in the tops and Meloney quilted them with her longarm.

First was this large Scrappy Mountain Majesties, quilted with wandering leaves.

Next, this quilt is a HUGE variation on a dresden plate in bright scrappy colors.  Meloney said this one was a challenge, but she knocked it out of the park.

Meloney custom quilted lots of swirls and curlicues to make this beautiful, happy quilt so special.  Thank you ladies for all your help in supporting Covered in Love!

My sleepy, spoiled babies love to "nurse" this minky blanket and make muffins on it.

Old and New

Quick, the sun came out! Hurry and take quilt pictures! Seriously though, it can stop raining any time now.  It would be fine with me!

Kathy returned some newly finished quilts to me this week. She took these vintage sampler blocks Holly gave me and finished them off beautifully for Covered in Love.

I'd also given Kathy one of my oldest UFOs, made in the Four Patch Charm pattern with scrappy batiks.  Thank You Kathy! This one's finally done and ready to go comfort a family.

And finally, here's a sneak peek of a new quilts as seen over Sundae's furry head :)

do. Good Stitches

No big finishes this week, but I did get two months worth of do. Good Stitches blocks done.  Based on how long it took me to do these I think that's worth a post!  As most of you probably have heard me say before, I've been a member of the Nurture circle since 2013 and the circle has been supporting Covered in Love since 2015.

Dhia asked for red and grey star blocks for February using the Moda Love pattern.  We each made 2 which finish at 12.5". Boy did these contain a lot of tiny pieces!

Next, Jenny asked for split nine patch blocks following this tutorial with a different color scheme.  I really like this block, so don't be surprised if you see it in a future CiL block drive.

I was the queen bee for January and asked for string blocks in "peanut butter and jelly" colors following this tutorial. Everyone did a great job and I'm in the process of arranging them on the design wall.  I asked for them to go ahead and send along the extra bits, too, and I turned those into hourglass blocks.  We're going to get two quilts out of this one!

And finally, here's a picture of Sundae owning the place at the vet's office this week. Meanwhile, Fudge cowers in the carrier. My wild child and the sweet, sensitive one ;)
