A Basket Full of Quilts for Jack

Happy Friday! I normally get my posts ready on Thursdays but I got behind this week.  The quilts I have to show this week aren't for CiL, but they are charity quilts!

Since I'm settling into my new quilting space I wanted to work on some smaller projects and Christine from FL had sent me 5 baby quilt tops for Jack's Basket all kitted up with matching backing and bindings.

These 5 baby quilts were the perfect way to break in my new space with some quick projects for my other favorite charity ;)

Jack's Basket gives education and supportive Welcome Baskets to babies born with Down Syndrome.  The remind families that their baby is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated during a time when that message has often gotten lost.

They appreciate having quilts to place in their baskets and I enjoy sewing these smaller quilts from time to time.  Besides Christine's kitted quilts I also had 2 small flannel tops from Priscilla that I finished and added to the box.

Seven cute quilts off to welcome new babies, and my new sewing space is officially in business!

Speaking of the new space, I promise to make a separate house-tour post this weekend and tell you all about it!

The kitties got a tree for Christmas
Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 500 so far! The Nov/Dec drive is going on now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. Isn’t it fun to make small quilts for Jack’s Basket? I’m looking forward to the house tour!

  2. What a wonderful batch of quilts to ship off to Jack's Basket. Awesome teamwork, Kat! (Speaking of shipping... My Nov/Dec blocks for CiL should be out in the mail next week.)

  3. These are lovely quilts you have made for a great cause. It's so nice to give something at a time like this when life often seems too hard. What an awesome blessing.

  4. The quilt tops from Christine & Priscilla are wonderful for Jack's Basket. I can't think of a better way to begin your new sewing space in your new home. They will be such a blessing to seven new babies. Can't wait for the tour of your home. Looks like Fudge loves his Christmas tree!

  5. I admire you so much for all that you do. The quilts are beautiful and I always love your photos of your kitties. They are so sweet. Thanks for the Christmas card and I also look forward to seeing your sewing space!

  6. I sent 2 quilts to Jack's Baskets this year for H2H and plan to do more as soon as I finish up a few things. It's nice to have small projects to quilt on my DSM. My Nov/Dec CiL blocks are done. Just need to package them up and get to the PO. Merry Christmas and thank you for all you do for others.

  7. Such sweet little quilts! I'm so glad you got to break in your new space with fun, small projects. Baby quilts are so fast and easy to quilt, aren't they?

  8. How Sweet! That first one is a great way to make a DNP Quilt!! I like how the greys and black set off the brights!

  9. What darling quilts for precious babies. Your sewing space has definitely been broken in!

  10. What pretty quilts for your inaugural sewing in the new space. Perfect size for fun sewing and quick finishes. Their little recipients are sure to love them.
