Odds and Ends

Hi everyone, first of all thanks to those who have been concerned about us in light of the recent hurricane.  We are all safe and sound here. We are much too far North and a little bit too West to be affected by this hurricane; we barely even got any rain.

This was a working week for me and I didn't get around to taking quilt photos in time to make a Friday post for you, instead I thought I'd share some photos from home with you of some other recent projects.  First, these were the June and July do. Good stitches blocks.

One of our circle members asked for blocks to make the "Plaid-ish" quilt pattern

I recently made some shelving to go around a window to add some extra storage.

Sundae approves of the cushion I made for the window seat. It keeps her at the perfect height to sun her fluffy belly. Nobody tell her that I didn't actually make it just for her, ok?

I realize there aren't any pictures of Fudge in this post but that's because he's usually right next to me and it's impossible to take a picture of us without my face looking all squished up.  He found a new place to store his favorite toy and keep it moist and fresh... in the motion activated food bowl.

Maybe he has some hidden genius that hasn't fully shown itself yet?

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 600 so far! The July/August drive is going on now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. I believe the kitty DOES think you made the cushion just for her as she looks so comfy sprawled out on it! Cute!! We were also too far north and west to be impacted by the hurricane..only a few sprinkles today (darn it!). My friend and I were in Lake Charles area just last week..YIKES!

  3. Plaidish is a great bee block pattern. It looks really good scrappy. I have a Plaidish top sewn using many of the scraps you sent me, just waiting to be quilted. I find the idea of a cat's "hidden genius" hilarious! Stealth brains :)

  6. Glad the hurricane didn't get to you or me! We were in a nail-biting situation here up to the day before the storm hit as they weren't certain where it was going to actually come in to land.
I downloaded the Plad-ish quilt pattern a few months ago. It looks like something I would like to make someday. You did a fantastic job on that shelving & I love the window seat made especially for Sundae & Fudge. :)
Looks like Fudge's middle name is Einstein...he seems to be a genius! :)

  7. Isn't it funny how cats always find the best spot in the house to lounge!? No matter how many beds you plan for them, they find their own nook to chill. That window seat is too good to pass up so no wonder it's been claimed! I"m glad you and your house dodged the storm.
