Scrap Love

Welcome to Finish it Friday, and another week of featuring a quilt that was started by a volunteer for Covered in Love.  Priscilla from Connecticut sent in these 20 scrappy "Star Cake" blocks and all I had to do was sew them together and quilt it!

I love how cozy and warm this quilt looks. There's just something special about scrap quilts.

I quilted it with an all-over stipple.  I've been putting some miles on my FMQ machine lately.

This beautiful backing fabric was one of the ones Amanda from Louisiana sent me.  It complimented the top perfectly.

Hope you have a great weekend! Meanwhile, enjoy this photo of Rory taking a catnap in her cat-cave.

Covered in Love makes quilts for people who pass away in the hospital.  The current Covered in Love block drive is going on until the end of June if you want to help out.  More info here

  1. Beautiful quilt! Lots of interest and movement with the HSTs, bright and fresh with the white background. Very nice!

  2. There absolutely is something special about scrappy quilts. This one is gorgeous and the soft quilting will keep it snuggly. Lovely.

  3. Priscilla did a wonderful job on those scrappy blocks. That quilt will be loved by a special family. Rory seems very content in her comfy cat-cave.

  4. Such a lovely scrap quilt! It's bright & happy, and the stipple quilting was perfect for it!

  5. That is a great quilt! I'm always amazed at what you can do with HSTs. Someone is really going to get some comfort from it.

  6. Scrap quilts are the best! What an angel Priscilla is for sending those blocks to you. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!

  7. Priscilla is an angel, as CBD noted aboue. I like that you used a stipple to quilt this one. It will be extra soft and copzy.

  8. Such a beautiful quilt! It never fails to amaze how beautiful scrappy quilts come out - like accidentally beauty! Thank you for sharing!
