(More) Americana

Blocks by Pam, assembled and quilted by Kathy
The Summer block drive, Red White and Blue Stars, is wrapping up and I've got some more thematically-appropriate finishes for Covered in Love to show!

This first quilt was made from some RWB hunter's star blocks sent in by Pam during the March block drive.  I added some more donated fabrics for a border and Kathy assembled and quilted the whole thing.  I love the layout she chose!

Blocks by Priscilla, assembled and quilted by Kathy
These Snowball blocks were a UFO sent in by Priscilla.  I made a few more blocks from the pre-cut pieces she sent and Kathy assembled and quilted them.  I love how scrappy and cuddly the finished quilt looks.

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 300 so far! Our block drives are back on track and July/August is the annual "Oh My Stars!" drive.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. Awesome. Thanks for all you do and to Kathy.

  2. Two more beauties! The Hunter's Stars are really vibrant, and the snowballs are just downright cuddly :)

  3. Kathy did a beautiful job on the quilting. The Hunter's Star quilt looks bright and cheery in red, white, and blue, while the snowball quilt looks like a great one to snuggle in. You've been posting some lovely donated tops this summer.

  4. I love the two new quilts you posted this week. The Hunter's Star came together perfectly for a patriotic/veteran quilt that will be loved by a grieving family. The snowball quilt brings back sweet memories of my grandmother as she had a snowball quilt that was so comfy & warm. Thanks to Pam, Kathy, Priscilla & you (Kat) for your unending dedication and help to CiL.

  5. Love your red, white and blue stars and its creative quilt holders!

  6. Wow!! That Hunter's Star quilt is AWESOME!!!

  7. I have 2 more QOV to make and the Hunter's Star is inspiring!
