String Drive 2019: Round 4

More string quilts from the Jan/Feb Covered in Love block drive!  The latest block drive just launched, so if you want to get involved read to the bottom of this post for details.

These first two quilts were expertly assembled from donated blocks and quilted by Tammy.  She added blue thin blue sashing to the second one and it's amazing how much it changes it!

The next 3 were assembled and quilted by me.  I'm steadily making my way through all of this year's string donations :)

Although the majority of the quilts are 60"x72", to best use the number of blocks I had it worked out to have three 60" square quilts.

Love it when I can find a fun backing like these birds to go with a scrappy quilt. I especially liked the color scheme of the birds.

These five bring the total of string quilts so far to 18, and there's at least 9 left.

Thank you all for your donations and support! I should be making another quilt drop off next week to bring some more quilty comfort to the hospital.

For your weekend dose of cat, a flashback photo of  baby Sundae and Fudge wrestling :)

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 500 so far! The September/October drive is going on now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  4. Love these string quilts. The sashing does add another element to the look. That one where the blocks are going in different directions makes my eyes dance. :)

  8. Lots & lots of string quilts. Because string quilts have always done weird things to my eyes I really like the separations with sashing. What wonderful gifts of love to the patients in need.
Sundae & Fudge loved growing up together. Wow! Look at those claws on Fudge! :)
