Nurturing Quilts

I struggled to take pictures today with high winds and bright sunshine, but I did get photos of these two quilts sent in by Jenny and made by the Nurture circle of do. Good Stitches.

Our circle made these scrappy blocks last year and Jenny assembled and quilted them with a pretty leaf motif.

Next, the group made these "Sunflower" blocks which obviously became the inspiration for the CiL Nov/Dec block.  The block is one originally made by Molli Sparkles

Again, Jenny did a beautiful job with the quilting.

Everything is melted here now and it's a balmy 70 degrees. I had to post one more picture from last week, though, of Fudge being displeased at the snow.

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 700 so far! The Jan/Feb drive is going on now.  Check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  1. Fudge is cute in the snow. Beautiful scraps used in your quilt. Lovely finish.

  2. Just gorgeous and bright, cheerful quilts. Fudge looks perplexed and not happy.

  3. Texas cats are just NOT prepared for snow! Poor Fudge. Both these quilts are so inviting and snuggly. The blue and yellow one is just a delight! I can see the basic two-rectangle building block. Did the guild members make just those simple pieces, or each final block a more complicated layout? Is each piece 2.5"4.5"?

  4. I like the do.Good Stitches quilt. That looks like a doable pattern. The sunflower worked up great also! Definitely good work being done!

  5. I love that floral quilting motif! As for your cat's displeasure with the weather -- I think we ALL can relate to that right now. It's raining here in Charlotte, today, and my poor puppy doesn't understand why I won't go out in the pouring rain and throw the ball for him in the mud!

  6. The quilts are real beauties & it was so nice of Jenny to send in those from do.Good Stitches for CiL. I really appreciate everyone's contributions & help to CiL for those in need. Fudge seems to be a "hot weather" cat.
