"Free" Quilts

Time for some of my favorite kind of quilts, ones that came in completely finished! Tina C. sent in this pretty quilt with the unique block.

Nancy R. sent in this neutral string braid based on a tutorial I did ages ago.

I was struggling with the light to take pictures by this point, but I really love the blend of neutrals and the quilting.

And Ann D. sent in two quilts with Betty Boop novelty fabrics.

Too cute!

Things are improving here with the Delta surge of Covid. We do still have 3 dedicated Covid wards open but that's down from 7 plus overflow. Unfortunately the memorial wall for hospital employees has grown to 9.  Not included in this picture is a 35 year old nurse who left behind 4 kids.  Even though it's a lot better the danger isn't gone, so do continue to be careful and get vaccinated!

Covered in Love is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates quilts to patients dying in the hospital, over 800 so far! The September/October drive is running now, check out the main post HERE if you want to get involved.

  2. Hooray, for donations of totality completed quilts! That’s awesome! So sorry it’s still such a struggle . Our little hospital has suspended elective surgeries again. We have more people hospitalized than in November 2020! We are the least vaccinated county per capita in our state, a fact I am ashamed of! I keep encouraging though!

  5. Kat, I'm so sorry for the continued Covid cases and staff losses. It does feel like this nightmare should be over by now but here we still are. You still inspire and give back to so many others...know that we are all sending you virtual hugs!!!
